Copying Placements between Plan Drawings

(Pro and Business Accounts only)

The Copy Placements feature enables you to copy 360 placements from one Plan Drawing to another, saving you time and effort when updating Plan Drawings.

Getting Started

This guide assumes that you have an existing Collection with a linked Plan Drawing that already contains placements for all the 360s.

1. Link the new Plan Drawing to the current Collection. It will be displayed alongside the other Plan Drawing.

2. Click to open the new Plan Drawing:

3. Click the "Copy Placements" button:

4. Confirm you want to proceed; then select the source Plan Drawing to copy placements from and click "Select":

  1. In the confirmation dialog, verify:

a. the number of placements to copy,

b. the source plan drawing file,

c. the destination plan drawing file,

then click "Copy" to complete the process:

After the confirmation modal appears, you should be able to open the new Plan Drawing file and the copied placements will all be there:

FAQs

Does the Copy Placement Feature delete the placements from the previous Plan Drawing?

No, the previous placements remain. If you want to remove the previous version of a Plan Drawing from the Collection, unlink the old version of the Plan Drawing from the Collection.

Does the Copy Placement Feature copy all placements for all images from the previous Plan Drawing?

Yes, the feature will copy ALL of the placements that are associated with the previous plan, even ones for images that are not currently in the Collection (remember that images not in the Collection will not be displayed). That means if you subsequently link the new Plan Drawing to other Collections the placements will already be copied over without needing further action.

Does the Copy Placement Feature check that Plan Drawings are the same before making the placements?

No. If the dimensions of the new plan drawing are different from the source plan drawing, the placements will be adjusted to be in the same relative position on the new document. You should always check that the placements are correct; if not, you can adjust the placement position to your liking.
